Our aim is simple - Great British real ale and fresh produce delivered with ease direct to your door. We offer our customers the chance to purchase bottled real ale and produce they might never find or just isn't available unless you are in the local area.

History

Ales By Mail is run by Paul & Karen Kruzycki, assisted by their daughter Millie. We have been supplying customers with bottle conditioned Discworld Real Ale for over six years. When Terry Pratchett allowed them to create Real Ales themed around his best selling Discworld novels, little did they know that it would expose them to some of the finest beers produced in some of the best breweries in the world.

Paul and Karen set about finding a way for these wonderful breweries to get their beer out to a wider audiance and Ales By Mail was born.

Paul's first business venture was in 1996 when he started the Discworld Convention. He discovered he had an inate ability for building new businesses from the ground up. With no experience of event management and having never been to a convention in his life he was able, with a team of volunteers drawn from across the country and Europe to deliver an extremely succesful four day event for a thousand people. Paul and Karen met during this period and have been together ever since. Having managed three successful events and raised thousands for charity Paul decided to turn his attention to other projects.

In early 2003 Paul and Karen started home delivery of Discworld Beer, sourced from some of the finest microbreweries in the country.

In 2004 Paul and Karen exhibited at the Boston World Con and travelled to the US promoting Real Ale in the US market.

A selection of the bottle conditioned beers were selected for the bottled beer bar at the 2005 Great British Beer Fesitval.

In 2006 and 2007 Paul organised a Discworld Beer festival in Wincanton with the invaluable help of the local branch of CAMRA. Offering the Discworld beers in cask and bottle.

When not sampling the finest real ales Paul can be found running on the streets of Romford training for another Marathon having been bitten by the running bug in 2009 when he completed the London Marathon.

Karen is in charge of Ales By Mail's communications and online promotion. She spends her time ensuring that your shopping experience is as easy and enjoyable as possible, and that the Ales By Mail message is heard all over the Internet.

She's been working in IT for the past 12 years, and spending far too much time on the Internet for 15. And her love of great beers & good food goes back much further! With a background including Austrian, Polish, Welsh & French among other nationalities, there really was no other option :)
